Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 8:12AM NIST’s role in cloud computing is to promote the effective and secure use of the technology within government and industry by providing technical guidance and promoting standards.
This definition will serve as a foundation for our upcoming publication on cloud models, architectures, and deployment strategies. Computer scientists at NIST developed this draft definition in collaboration with industry and government and we expect it to evolve over time as the cloud industry and cloud technology matures.
